Royal Canadian Pacific Express
7-day Escorted Tour

Trains:  Royal Canadian Pacific

Train Type:  Luxury

The Tour
In a timeless tradition, Royal Canadian Pacific continues to share the experience of the Canadian Rockies on the Pacific Express Excursion. This is the ultimate in time travel—riding through the heart of the Rocky Mountain wilderness in the luxurious private cars of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

The Itinerary
Day 1: Calgary
Welcome to Calgary, known as the “Heart of the New West.” Upon arrival at the airport, meet your private chauffeur and transfer to The Fairmont Palliser Hotel, a vintage Canadian Pacific Hotel, for your overnight stay on the luxurious Gold Level. Dinner will be on your own this evening, allowing you to explore the many small and unique restaurants and bistros on Stephen Avenue, just one block from the hotel.

Day 2: Banff
All Aboard! The luxurious Royal Canadian Pacific awaits at the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion this morning. Bid farewell to Calgary as the train enters the gateway to the Rocky Mountains and arrives in the famous mountain community of Banff. After a guided motor coach tour of the area and a visit to the famous Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the "Castle of thet Rockies," board the train and travel the short distance to Lake Louise. Mingle with your fellow traveling companions during a cocktail reception and enjoy a splendid dinner as the sun sets over the Canadian Rockies. Tonight, we'll stable in a quiet siding for our first overnight on the train.

Day 3: Kicking Horse Pass and Spiral Tunnels
After a morning of sightseeing at Lake Louise and area, the train will depart in the afternoon. Enjoy the views from an open air vestibule as the train descends through Kicking Horse Pass. This pass was one of the biggest challenges to the building of the transcontinental railroad, now demonstrating the ingenious engineering feat known as the “Spiral Tunnels” which have allowed safe rail movement through the pass since 1909. The train will be arriving in early evening into the lakefront community of Sicamous, B.C. for another quiet overnight.

Day 4: Okanagan Valley
Welcome to lake country and the gateway to the Okanagan Valley; western Canada’s wine region. After breakfast the private motorcoach will whisk you off for a day of exploring this region and a sampling of what it has to offer. At the end of the day, return to the train in Kamloops for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: On board
Bid farewell to Kamloops as the train departs and winds through the Thompson Valley and on to the Fraser Valley. From the train you will have a hill-top view of the awesome Hell’s Gate – a natural gorge of rock walls that forces the mighty Fraser River through a 110 foot wide passage. The train will arrive into Vancouver where you will spend your final night on the train.

Day 6: Vancouver
After breakfast, you will be taken for a fantastic west-coast adventure by float-plane. Your final night in Vancouver will be spent at The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.

Day 7: Vancouver
After breakfast and checkout, private transfer to the Vancouver International Airport, marking the end of your journey with the Royal Canadian Pacific.
