Train Type: First-Class
The Tour
Board India’s Palace on Wheels, a first-class, private train, and see Rajasthan, reputed “land of the Maharajas.” The Palace on Wheels train tour is the ideal way to see this remote, otherwise inaccessible region: desolate deserts, hills marked with fort walls, legendary pavilions—even a shimmering white palace set in the middle of a serene lake. The train travels mostly by day; nights are spent at quiet sidings.
“[The Palace on Wheels] far exceeded all expectations. I would even go so far as to say that it was one of the best trips I have ever taken. The train was marvelous, food wonderful, and service impeccable..”
— P. Krochalk, Palace on Wheels, 2008
