The Itinerary
(Note: Unless designated "included," all activities described in this itinerary are suggestions only. Itinerary can be done in reverse order. Extra nights can be added in any city for additional charge. Please inquire about additional extensions.)

Day 1: Arrive in Seattle
Welcome to Seattle! Transfer independently to your downtown hotel. This evening you may wish to explore Seattle’s waterfront. Overnight in Seattle.

Day 2: Seattle Exploring
Today you will take a city tour (included), then have the afternoon to explore the busy Pike Place market or the Seattle Aquarium. This evening enjoy dinner at the Seattle Space Needle in the SkyCity Restaurant (included).  Overnight in Seattle.

Day 3: Seattle to San Francisco
Board Amtrak's Coast Starlight mid-morning bound for California (roomette accommodations and meals included). En route, the scenery creates a gorgeous backdrop, snow-covered mountains, dense forests, fertile valleys and long stretches of Pacific Ocean shoreline. As the Coast Starlight crosses from Oregon to California, you will be lulled to sleep in your private accommodations.

Day 4: Arrive in San Francisco
The Coast Starlight arrives in Oakland at approximately 8:30 a.m.Transfer by motorcoach to downtown San Francisco (included). “The City by the Bay” has consistently been rated as one of the world’s top travel destinations. San Francisco has everything for everyone! Enjoy the day at leisure, using your included CityPass to visit six of the city’s best attractions (among them, full use, for the length of your stay, of the cable cars and San Francisco Muni public transportation network, including the historic F Line streetcars).  Overnight in San Francisco.

Day 5: Explore San Francisco
This morning, you will take a deluxe sightseeing tour of the city (included). Highlights include: the Opera House, Old Mission Dolores, the Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz. The tour ends with a one-hour narrated cruise aboard the Blue & Gold Fleet on the San Francisco Bay. This evening, relax and enjoy dinner at Neptune’s Restaurant (included). Overnight in San Francisco.

Day 6: Napa Valley Exploring
Start your day by heading north into the world-renowned Napa Valley aboard a comfortable air-conditioned motorcoach (included). Your knowledgeable driver-guide will leisurely lead you to and from the wine country. Visit several wineries for tours and tastings. Lunch opportunities abound in Yountville.  Overnight in San Francisco.

Day 7: San Francisco to Los Angeles
Early morning you will transfer back to the Amtrak station in Oakland for to rejoin the Coast Starlight for your journey to Los Angeles (included).The journey takes you south through San Jose and Santa Barbara. Arrive at approximately 9:00 p.m. and transfer independently to your hotel. Overnight in Los Angeles. 

Day 8: Explore Los Angeles
Take a guided tour of Los Angeles and Hollywood today (included). So many sights to see, and of course be certain to keep your eyes open for celebrity sightings! Overnight in Los Angeles.

Day 9: Universal Studios
Today you will explore Universal Studios, the largest film and television studio in the world, where the greatest moments from movies and television come to life (included)! You’ll see why Universal Studios is synonymous with Hollywood entertainment!  Overnight in Los Angeles.

Day 10: Vacation Ends in Los Angeles
Today your West Coast Rail adventure comes to an end. Depart for home from Los Angeles.
