Meet your tour leader:
Karl Zimmermann

Karl Zimmermann has ridden trains on six continents and has told the story of those travels widely. He work has appeared in print in newspaper travel sections hundreds of times in the past 35 years, and in magazines nearly as often. While railroads have been his greatest journalistic interest, he has also written frequently about ships and steamboats; about baseball, particularly the minor leagues; and about the visible remnants of vanished industries and ways of life.
