Day 1 (D)
Travel by regular train to St. Petersburg. Upon arrival, transfer to a five-star
hotel (Astoria or similar), for a three-night stay. Free time to explore this
fascinating city independently. This evening a welcome dinner has been arranged
at the Adamant Restaurant which will include a concert of popular classical
music.
Day 2 (B, L, D)
After breakfast in the hotel, we embark on a full day touring Peter the Great’s
capital city. The tour will include the famous ‘Peter and Paul’
Fortress and St. Isaacs Cathedral. Lunch is served at one of Vladamir Putin’s
favorite restaurants, Podvorie. This afternoon we visit the spectacular Catherine’s
Palace and Gardens which will include a tour of the famous Amber Room. Dinner
will be at a local restaurant.
Day
3 (B, L, D)
Today our arrangements will include a morning tour of the Hermitage
and Winter Palace including the remarkable Gold Room. We then take a hydrofoil
to Peterhof, Peter the Great’s "Versailles" on the Gulf of
Finland where we stop for lunch and visit the water gardens. Free time this
evening to explore "Nevsky Prospekt" and the numerous side streets
and canals that comprise this breathtaking city. Optional visit to the Mariinsky
Theatre.
Day 4 (B, L)
This morning is spent at leisure. Enjoy free time for extra sightseeing or
shopping. Lunch is at the Orient Express Restaurant. Airport transfers included
to connect with international flight departures.
