Travel across the Alps from dreamy Venice to the architectural gem of Krakow. Take in musical Vienna and end in the romantic city of Paris, with plenty of time to explore at your leisure on this new itinerary.

 

Day 1: Venice
Early evening departure of the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express from Venice’s Santa Lucia Station. Settle into your compartment as the train travels through the mountain scenery of the Italian Dolomites and Austrian Alps. Later, indulge in an aperitif in the bar before a splendid dinner in one of the opulent dining cars. Meanwhile, your compartment is converted to a cozy bedroom for your first night on board.

Day 2: Krakow
Breakfast is served in your compartment as you travel through the ever-changing Slovakian countryside and Tatra Mountains. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on board as the train crosses into Poland for an afternoon arrival in Krakow—an architectural gem and one of Europe’s most beautiful and vibrant cities.

Day 3: Krakow
Explore Krakow at your own pace. From the unique medieval market square, with its Cloth Hall full of artisan’s shops selling exquisite amber jewelry, to the Cathedral and fortified Royal Castle standing high on Wawel Hill, Krakow is a delight.

Day 4: Krakow
Enjoy more time to explore Krakow before rejoining the train this evening for dinner and overnight on board.

Day 5: Vienna
Breakfast is served in your compartment as you approach Vienna, where the train arrives this morning. The remainder of the day and evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Once the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, this beautiful city is easy to explore. Why not take a horse-drawn carriage ride past the many architectural splendors of the Ringstrasse?

Day 6: Vienna
Further exploration of this grand city before rejoining the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express in the early afternoon. Enjoy afternoon tea and dinner on board as you continue your journey towards France.

Day 7: Paris
Morning arrival in the romantic city of Paris, where you disembark.
