Day 1: Vancouver

Arrive in Vancouver and overnight.

Day 2: Vancouver-Kamloops

Board Rocky Mountaineer in Vancouver. Full day on board the Rocky Mountaineer en route to Kamloops. View green fields of Fraser River valley, forests, winding river canyons, wildlife, rushing waters of Hell’s Gate, steep slopes and rock sheds along Thompson River. Overnight in Kamloops hotel. (B, L)

Day 3: Kamloops-Jasper

Board the Rocky Mountaineer for another full day on board. Continue north and east to Canadian Rockies and Alberta. Train climbs along North Thompson River through mountains toward Continental Divide. View Mt. Robson (at 12,972 feet, highest peak in Canadian Rockies), Pyramid Falls, Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Overnight in Jasper. (B, L)

Day 4: Jasper

Tour of Jasper National Park, a World Heritage Site and the Canadian Rockies’ largest national park. See the area’s many natural attractions, rugged peaks and wildlife. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Jasper independently. Overnight in Jasper. (L)

Day 5: Jasper-Banff

Enjoy a motorcoach tour along the Icefields Parkway and visit the Columbia Icefield. After an educational Ice Explorer ride on the Athabasca Glacier, continue to Bow Lake and Banff. Overnight in Banff. (L)

Day 6: Banff-Lake Louise

A half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in Lake Louise where the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy this magnificent location. Please note that while arrival at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will be approximately 1:00 p.m., scheduled check-in time is not until 4:00 p.m. In the event that your room is not ready, your luggage will be stored and you are free to enjoy the amenities of the hotel. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 7: Lake Louise-Calgary

Full-day tour today includes Bow Falls, Banff Gondola, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos. Panoramic helicopter “flightseeing” tour over the Rockies (12 minutes) included. Overnight in Calgary.

Day 8: Calgary

Tour ends with checkout from your Calgary hotel.

Arrive in Calgary and overnight.

Day 2: Calgary-Lake Louise with Panoramic Helicopter Tour

Depart Calgary this morning for a full-day tour concluding in Lake Louise. Journey to Kananaskis where you will enjoy the highlight of today, a 12-minute Panoramic Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Continue on to Banff for a sightseeing tour including Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Banff Gondola included. Your tour ends on arrival in world famous Lake Louise late this afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 3: Lake Louise-Banff

This morning you are free to explore beautiful Lake Louise on your own. After lunch, a half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to Banff. Please note that while departure from The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will be approximately 2:00 p.m., scheduled checkout time is normally 12:00 p.m. Your luggage will be stored upon checkout and you are free to enjoy the amenities of the hotel before the tour departs. Overnight in Banff.

Day 4: Banff-Jasper

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks via Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway. Among the highlights are Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Falls. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included).
Arrive in Jasper late this afternoon. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 5: Jasper

Half-day tour of Jasper National Park, a World Heritage Site and the Canadian Rockies’ largest national park. See the area’s many natural attractions, rugged peaks and wildlife. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Jasper independently. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 6: Jasper-Kamloops

Board Rocky Mountaineer in Jasper. Full day on board the Rocky Mountaineer en route to Kamloops. View Mt. Robson (at 12,972 feet, highest peak in Canadian Rockies), Pyramid Falls, Yellowhead Pass, and the journey along the North Thompson River into Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops. (B, L)

Day 7: Kamloops-Vancouver

Board the Rocky Mountaineer for another full day on board. Continue west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. View rock sheds along the Thompson River and rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Valley. Overnight in Vancouver, (B, L)

Day 8: Vancouver

Tour ends with checkout from your Vancouver hotel.
