Itinerary
Day 1: London – Haverfordwest
Board the Britannic Explorer at London Victoria Station in the mid-afternoon and settle into your suite.
Enjoy a Welsh Afternoon Tea as the train travels west towards Bristol, crossing the Severn Estuary into Wales and following the south coast through Cardiff and Swansea. Continue through Carmarthenshire, the “Garden of Wales”, to reach Pembrokeshire.
In the evening, make your way to The Bar to mingle with your fellow guests over a selection of signature cocktails before dinner in one of the dining cars.
Enjoy a peaceful night as the train stables overnight in Haverfordwest.
Day 2: Haverfordwest – Porthmadog
After breakfast, disembark at Llandrindod Wells for a guided hike through the tranquil valleys of the remote Welsh heartland. Enjoy a British picnic among fragrant lavender fields before rejoining the train for lunch.
Your journey continues along the Heart of Wales Line, which winds through the rural uplands of Carmarthenshire and Powys. As you continue to travel north, admire the dramatic views of Snowdonia National Park – known locally as Eryri.
Dinner on board, followed by lively entertainment.
The train stables overnight in the harbor town of Porthmadog.
Day 3: Porthmadog – Machynlleth – Moreton-in-Marsh
Breakfast is served as the train leaves Porthmadog and heads south towards Machynlleth, a town at the southern point of Snowdonia National Park.
Make your way to the Observation Car to revel in the views as the train travels over the scenic Barmouth Bridge and you arrive in Machynlleth for a range of curated excursions off the train.
Back on board, lunch is served as the train continues through the greenery of Mid Wales and Montgomeryshire, passing Welshpool before crossing the border of Shropshire.
Wind down through the Midlands to reach Moreton-in-Marsh, and idyllic market town celebrated for its charming “chocolate box” cottages.
Disembark for an exclusive party in a Cotswolds pub, sampling local drinks and food.
Overnight on board the train.
Day 4: Oxfordshire – London
Savor another tasty breakfast on board as the train travels back to London. After a picturesque journey through Oxfordshire and the Chilterns, arrive at Victoria Station early in the morning where your journey ends.

Reviews From Our Travelers
Every year I think this will be my final trip. But the trips you offer are so glorious I can’t stop. You may have to have me committed somewhere to get me to stop.
Our family trip to Japan was perfectly planned by Eleanor....all eight of us were very happy with the trip and all of the arrangements, which were MANY! We came home happier than any of us thought possible!
Eleanor and her staff are enthusiastic and provide information that is additional to that provided by the particular tour agency. She makes an effort to know her clients and makes sure that the tour is appropriate for each client and follows up on details.
