Rejoin the train to head towards the next destination: Sulmona. Here, you can enhance your experience by joining the historic Transiberian of Italy train to visit Pescocostanzo. Walk the ancient streets and enjoy lunch before boarding the La Dolce Vita Orient Express back to Rome.

Day 1: Rome – Matera

Board La Dolce Vita Orient Express in the afternoon and depart from Rome Ostiense train station.

In the evening, enjoy a special curated dinner menu by three-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck.

Enjoy live entertainment and drinks in the bar lounge car before settling into your cabin for the night.

Overnight on the train in your cozy cabin.

Day 2: Matera

Begin your morning with an Italian breakfast in the dining car before arriving in Matera.

Disembark and take time to explore Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient cave dwellings.

You can also reserve an optional curated excursion to explore the city’s rich history and have lunch in a unique cave restaurant.

Rejoin the train for drinks, live entertainment and dinner onboard.

Day 3: Sulmona – Rome

Enjoy breakfast as the train arrives in Sulmona.

Disembark to tour the city at your leisure, or enhance your experience with the curated excursion to Pescocostanzo.

On this excursion, you will board the historic Transiberian of Italy train for drink and entertainment as you journey to the medieval city of Pescocostanzo. Lunch is served here.

Rejoin the La Dolce Vita Orient Express in the afternoon to return to Rome, where you journey on La Dolce Vita comes to an end.  Your butler and the Orient Express team will manage your luggage and your included private transfer to your Rome hotel.
